The Meade DS 60 mm f/11 refractor functions primarily as a guidescope. Guidescopes are small-aperture telescopes paired with a much larger telescope, used in an imaging technique called autoguiding. Guidescopes need not be expensive nor of superb quality. Even cheap telescopes may be used for this purpose.
